DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 6th May 2018 – Participation by National employees in the delivery and operation of Air Traffic Control in the Middle East, and the development of critical air navigation services that take cultural nuances into consideration are the key factors within Serco’s aviation arm in the region. With the opening of the Airport Show 2018 tomorrow, the international services company has revealed the most vital considerations to effectively deliver high-performing air navigation services across the Middle East, and more importantly, how to ensure that these services can provide optimal benefits to the communities they serve.
Peter Mohring, Managing Director Aviation, Serco Middle Eaststated, “We are the only private ATS company that has this level of depth of expertise within the Middle East’s aviation sector, and we want to share that expertise across the region. Our teams work throughout the region every day to overcome challenges and to achieve operational excellence and high levels of customer satisfaction. Our depth of experience across the Middle East is unparalleled and during the conference we will be discussing with existing and potential customers how best we can share that knowledge and experience with them.’’
In the Middle East, Serco’s aviation experience now spans over the past 71 years, providing a range of critical services to support air traffic growth in partnership with their aviation customers. Serco is one of the few commercial outsourcing providers to encompass the three disciplines of tower operations, approach control, and en-route centres. Serco enables their customers to develop a world-class team of air traffic controllers and continually updates their skills to keep up with the latest technologies and international standards.
A major focus for Serco over the past few years has been ‘Nationalisation’. David Greer, CEO, Serco Middle East stated ‘’As the custodians of the systems we operate, it is important that we work with our clients to develop a legacy for the longer term. Serco is proud of its focus and dedication to Nationalisation, and its drive to be an employer of choice for National employees in the private sector, which forms a fundamental pillar of our Diversity and Inclusion framework.”
Serco is seeking to achieve this through its Al Mosharakah committee, chaired by the CEO with both senior UAE National employees and Managing Directors represented. Each month this committee discusses the Nationalisation initiatives and imperatives across Serco’s business in the region whilst ensuring the National voice is heard and embedded into everything they do.
In close collaboration with various partners, Serco is also looking to develop the skills and careers of high potential National talent, through a range of development programmes. One of which is Al Masar where a selected number of National talent participates in a 6-month programme, focused on experiential learning in various sectors and functions across our business.
All of these initiatives contribute to Serco’s aspiration to cultivate and nurture long term partnerships and sustainability.
For 2018, Serco will utilise its extensive regional experience and the lessons learned to offer solutions to their clients that match their aspirations. Serco Middle East will be participating in the Airport Show at Stand 6111 from 7th-9th May 2018.
