Dubai, 30 March 2015: Jumeirah Emirates Towers, in partnership with Ayyam Gallery, has installed a new sculpture “The Elephants Trio” outside the main entrance of the hotel tower.

Nadim Karam, a multidisciplinary Lebanese artist, masterfully crafted the sculpture. Laser-cut from stainless steel, the sculptures increase in height from 0.70m to 1.5m to 3m - the largest is the size of a fully-grown elephant. Over 500 stainless steel tubes join the two sides of the largest elephant together. The perforated surfaces are constituted from Karam’s rich vocabulary of forms.

“We are thrilled to introduce the new residents of Jumeirah Emirates Towers,” said Sven Wiedenhaupt, General Manager of Jumeirah Emirates Towers. “The sculptures add character to the strong business personality of the hotel, making it look more grandiose and powerful. We think our guests will enjoy this beautiful work of art, created by the talented Lebanese artist Nadim Karam.”

The multidisciplinary practice of Lebanese artist and architect Nadim Karam incorporates painting, drawing, sculpture, and writing in the creation of monumental imagery, artistic interventions, and conceptual proposals that argue for the social potential of futurist and alternative spaces, particularly those built on dreams. Nadim Karam’s sculptures are represented by Ayyam Gallery, based in Dubai.
